Asia spans the world’s strictest firearms regimes — Japan, Singapore and China among them — alongside jurisdictions with substantial licensed civilian ownership such as Pakistan and the Philippines. Most Asian countries require licences for any civilian firearm and prohibit or tightly restrict handguns and carry.
